Helpful Guidelines For Riders & Volunteers

  1. Be Safe
  2. Animals can be on the road so be careful.
  3. Let people know who is RAAM Qualified
  4. Racer Color-Coding by ribbons
    • Pink Ribbon = Team riders (can draft each other only)
    • Green Ribbon = Tejas 500 riders
    • Red Ribbon = 24-Hour riders
    • Blue Ribbon = 12-Hour riders
    • Black Ribbon = 6-Hour riders
  5. Awards available only if you are present at Banquet. It is your responsibility to pick up all awards and packet items before you leave the awards ceremony, we will not mail them.
  6. Raffling sponsors products at end of Banquet (must be present)
  7. Drafting to 1st stop sign on first lap only.
  8. Call out numbers at start/finish line (your responsibility) - If timekeeper says "stop" you need to stop. It is your responsibility to get your rider number to the timekeepers and verify your results before the awards ceremony.
  9. If police are at a stop sign, they are there for your protection, not to arrest you for running the stop sign, but this does not mean you do not need to watch out for traffic.
  10. Lead out vehicle will drive in front of lead riders to the first right turn, vehicle will stop just past the first turn on the shoulder to make sure no one misses the first right turn, the first lap only.
  11. SAG should be traveling the opposite direction of riders, approximately once per hour, with their hazard flashers on. Raise your hand if you need help.
  12. No personal support vehicles or crew on course. If caught receiving help from anyone but neutral support = DQ
  13. Be sure to congratulate other riders as you pass them.
  14. Be kind and thankful to all Volunteers and support our Sponsors.
  15. If you are heading out on a prorated lap, one that will not be completed before the clock gets to 48 hrs, you must alert the official by announcing "Prorated Lap" or have your crew do it for you.
  16. Explain last lap rule to all riders in detail and ask if there are any questions!!!

Brenda Barnell - Congratulations
