6-Hour Shoot Out
It makes for a good time when the 6-hour participants get out on the course with riders from all of the other events still on the loop. All the 6-hour folks lined up at 11am on Saturday for an afternoon of riding. Rich Putich, from Las Vegas, came to ride the 6-hour event and finished with a 1st Place Solo Male Recumbent trophy and a new 6-Hour Course Record to add to his 12-Hour Course Record he set (and still holds) in 2014.
Ron Alley from Burleson earned the 1st Place Solo Upright award with 96.38 miles, followed very closely by Dan Plutto from The Woodlands with 94.64. Along with the top 2 Solo Male Finishers, 3rd Place Roger Heard also rode a pro-rated lap to finish with 91.71 miles. Finishing in 4th place and after are Kenneth Peterson, Justin Daniels (from our sponsor B&B Bicycles), Bill Moreman (from our sponsor Bicycles, Inc.), Chris Williams, Herb Hepler (9th year participant) and Martin Martinez.
Third time participant Carol Ambuhl from Houston missed setting a new course record by 3/10 of a mile. Carol rode 105.70 miles to earn the 1st Place Solo Female Award. Linda Randel, from Big Spring Texas rode to a 2nd Place Solo Female Award.
Thank you to all the Texas 6-Hour Shoot Out participants for a great ride.
